‘A love of learning for life’

Welcome
At Old Basing Infant School everyone is nurtured within a happy, healthy and safe community in order to thrive and achieve their full potential. We aim to develop self-esteem and a passion for learning; encouraging independence and creative thinking to ensure our children have the skills to progress through life with confidence.

In line with the Every Child Matters agenda we aim to teach children to stay safe and adopt a healthy lifestyle while preparing them both academically and socially to become the citizens of the future.  We do this in partnership with parents, governors and the wider community.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our teaching and learning, the excellence of our environment and the high level of resources we provide for our school community.  We believe in delivering a creative curriculum which promotes inclusion and focuses on high achievement for all.

In February 2008 Ofsted recognised us as an outstanding school, an accolade we are extremely proud of. The opening sentence reads “Old Basing Infants is an outstanding school in which pupils thrive in both their personal and academic development”. The Inspector commented - “The school thoroughly deserves its good reputation within the community”.

Despite this high praise we continue to strive for excellence and improvement. We hope that this is evident as you browse our website.  If you are interested in bringing your child to our school, please feel free to make an appointment to come and look around. We assure you that you will receive a warm welcome.
